Today's lesson was very challenging—we went "back to school" to talk about the subject, predicate, and object of a complex sentence. Here's an example:
An unhappy customer asked us to turn off the music. (Note - This is a tough sentence to analyze when you're an English learner!)
Ivy, Heidi, and Junior did a great job spotting the subject, predicate, and object during a seek and find activity. Edwin and Marcelo struggled a little bit more than some of the others. After some practice, everyone was getting the hang of it and seemed to enjoyed picking apart sentences for detail.
