the Iceberg represents a constant

Level 3: July 18

Students were asked to articulate the similarities between their experience with English and the book, Our Iceberg Is Melting, while using language for agreeing and disagreeing.

Wendy said that the Iceberg represents a constant and that Spanish is her Iceberg because that is what is constant and comfortable. The Iceberg melting is the change, so that is English. The things causing her Iceberg to melt are confidence, taking class with Diana because she makes English easy to understand and having more knowledge about the language.

Students said across the board that what is hard for them is using correct verb tenses on the spot; remembering what nouns, verbs, and adjectives are; figuring out when and which article to use; when to use in / on / at; when to use of / by / to / from / for.
