Rosi is a joy to have in class. She is bright and studious and she sheds all of her fears when trying on new language, which encourages others to try.
This week, we read about a Nun in Mexico who won a cooking competition - using reading as a way of increasing grammar awareness.
She said "She cooking steak" - an error-filled sentence we're trying to fix in students so that they can move beyond basic grammar and start to develop stronger vocabulary. I asked Rosi what was wrong with her sentence and she quickly replied "I ate the 'is'!" - at which everyone laughed. It was a memorable moment.
