Yoel

Level 1 - 2:30pm

Today we learned about fittings and fixtures in the workplace. [Right up Yoel's alley!] Students took pictures of some pretty cool things so we got to learn some additional vocabulary:

  • Derwin took pictures of washers and bolts
  • Yoel took a picture of a clamp
  • Lorenzo took a picture of a drill

Yoel wanted to know the difference between a "tile" and a "tie".

When we were learning "bracket," Jose J. said, "like cracket" and Jio said, "like a little cookie." So we talked about the difference between the final 'et' sound vs the final 'er' sound which sounds the same to students.

Students also wanted to know the difference between a "bracket" a "break" and a "breaker (like a circuit breaker)" because it all sounded the same to them.
