Level 2 students worked on using “do” as a helper verb for making questions. What do you like to eat? etc.
Some new (and very common) meanings for an old word came up in class—“get” can mean “to understand” and “to arrive” in addition to what the students previously knew it as—“to receive or retrieve.”
- -I get it!
- -When did you get there?
- -I’ll get the paper.
This week, only Roger and Diana came to class. Our group may have been small, but they came ready to learn and both expressed how grateful they were for the opportunity to learn English!
