Students worked on how to give instructions and confirm if someone has done something in English. (ie "Check the temperature of the meat. vs. Did you check the temperature of the meat?) This was initially confusing, but Leandro had an Ah-ha moment and said, "before you tell someone to do something, sometimes you need to ask if they already did it."
This week, try asking your students if they've already done something before telling them to do it! And if they did it, ask them to give you the instructions on how they did it!
