This week, students learned to ask questions politely, using the correct location of "please." They had to follow directions and build a place setting and then act out server/guest scene with key terms.
Students knew a ton of place setting vocabulary already and a ton of directional vocabulary. This was great because they were able to really hone in on practicing the modal formation, even using "please" in the correct place and not getting up up on the rest of the words needed for directions.
When discussing the question "Would you mind signing this?" Jose L. said, "So 'would you mind' is like asking, 'does it bother you?' So you should answer, no, right?" Great connection!
